From High School E-commerce to AI & Service Science: An Operator's Journey

My core competency has always been that of a "practice-driven, cross-disciplinary integrator"—someone who bridges the gap between technology, business, and user needs to transform abstract ideas into tangible products and services.

Growing up in an under-resourced environment compelled me to self-learn programming and business principles from a young age. This journey instilled in me a resilient, execution-oriented, and systems-thinking mindset. Looking back, my path has been shaped by three main pillars: technical implementation, data-driven decision-making, and global leadership.

Here is a look at the key milestones of my journey so far.

1. The Roots: E-commerce and Non-Profit Systems (2018 - 2022)

My first real taste of business and operations came during high school. I independently started and operated a Shopee e-commerce store selling genuine software licenses. Within a year, it generated over NT$1.2M in revenue with 4,000+ orders, accumulating over 1,300 positive reviews. I learned how to analyze marketing data, optimize sales funnels, and handle customer service at scale.

When the pandemic hit, I co-founded DaoDao Education (島島阿學), a non-profit open-source platform providing diverse learning resources for students of all ages.

  • We built a cost-optimized serverless architecture leveraging cloud-native free tiers and CI/CD pipelines, minimizing operational overhead for an NPO.
  • The platform eventually served over 50,000 users and was recognized with the 2021 Taiwan Education Innovation Top 100 Award by Parenting Magazine (親子天下).

2. EdTech Startups and Campus Infrastructure (2022 - 2024)

Entering university at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), I channeled my technical and operational skills into the education space. I co-founded two EdTech startups—Huixing (匯星教育) and Read AI (享讀 AI 智能教育).

  • We developed an AI-driven education chatbot and online platforms impacting 10,000+ students, leveraging LLMs and RAG systems to create personalized learning paths.
  • As Co-Founder and CTO, I established our strategic organizational framework, secured NT$1.5M in funding (including the MOE U-Start Program grant twice), and successfully led the teams into NTHU, NCCU, and NSYSU startup accelerators.

Simultaneously, I took on roles within NTHU as a Technical Specialist and Web Developer.

  • I revamped and maintained multiple official websites, delivering intuitive interfaces for over 15,000 MAUs.
  • By implementing robust SEO strategies, we boosted organic reach to over 300,000 monthly impressions.
  • I also led the NTHU Data API and Campus Agent projects, building K8s architecture on GCP and releasing a RESTful API with 20+ endpoints used by thousands of students.

3. Data Analytics, Global Competitions, and Enterprise Scale (2024 - Present)

As my systems grew larger, I realized the need for rigorous data analysis and enterprise-level engineering capabilities.

In 2024, I joined Lootex as a Data Analyst Intern.

  • I independently architected comprehensive data tracking pipelines using BigQuery, Google Tag Manager, and Analytics.
  • I engineered a centralized, company-wide dashboard using Looker Studio, integrating over 10 heterogeneous sources (including blockchain data and platform telemetry) to provide actionable insights for C-level executives.

On the global stage, I served as the Business Developer and Financial Officer for the NTHU iGEM Team (Pandage). We developed a synthetic biology solution to accelerate skin wound healing using targeted probiotics. I secured NT$1M in funding, and we won an international Silver Medal at iGEM 2024 in Paris.

The Next Chapter: Appier and Service Science

Currently, I am a Technical Solution Engineer Intern at Appier, where I facilitate efficient client onboarding pipelines, validate MMP setups, and troubleshoot SDK tracking discrepancies. It's a role that perfectly combines technical depth with client-facing problem solving.

Looking ahead, I am pre-admitted to the Master of Business Administration - Institute of Service Science at NTHU. While my startup experiences yielded initial success, they also revealed the need for a systematic, scientific foundation to navigate business model validation and scalability.

The Institute of Service Science is the perfect blueprint for my transformation from a hands-on practitioner into a builder equipped with scientific thinking. Whether I choose to launch another venture or continue as a digital transformation consultant, I am committed to designing impactful, data-driven, and sustainable service systems.
